Wow! I am so lucky with my large German Shepherd. Timber was his name and big and beautiful. He was mine and a runner. Didn't like that he had to put in a pen. He was so special but extremely jealous of any guy that I dated. He was my best friend and slept in my bed. When I was sad or crying he comforted me and licked my tears. I had to choose between leaving him when I got married in 1969! Think I should have not left my dog. I moved to Michigan from NJ. To this day, I still cry over having to leave him. Two months later, I got a call from my brother and my loving shepherd was put down because he was peeing in the house. I know he died of a broken heart and after all these years, I still miss him, love him and 😭. I had 2 other shepherds and I was their leader. Never any problems with them. Miss you Timber after all these years.

My AmStaff, named Puppy, LOVED chasing birds, ducks and geese in particular, mercilessly. As you'd watch her ears flapping in the wind, her tongue hanging out also flapping in the wind, and the sheer joy she was having running full blast at them, shooting her in the face would have NEVER come to mind. She had geese and ducks sitting on branches in trees, which is something I can't remember seeing before or since. It was completely hilarious. And she'd never hurt a fly. We had chipmunks in our yard who weren't afraid to approach us, and she even got hold of a baby squirrel, but just to give his ears a good cleaning. He wasn't really very happy about that, though he probably appreciated it later. She thought she wanted to chase swans, too, but she found out they aren't as easy as the others. Individuals who have a disregard for creatures they see as lower, can also easily apply that disregard to humans. And individuals who torture animals have a connection with psychopathy. They can also transfer that behaviour onto humans.

You better do something about your dog. Strangers are not going to play with a agressive dog.

I don't agree with a word you say. He is not abusing the dogs. He is showing dogs that he is a leader. Dogs need strong leadership. The moment the dogs stop being aggressive he immediately gives them pets and kindness. He handles the dogs perfectly well. How do you handle aggressive dogs behavior? Owners struggle to take these dogs out socially in public. I know what dog abuse is, where there are Ill intentions and negligence. You are ignorant in your statements.

Not *that* new a viewer again, I mean, I have been watching along since the series with Moira and then George. But an overview of it all is probably a good idea here in the pre-phase of getting a dog. (the poodle onn the pictures were Cona, right?) I noticed one of the dogs biting ni the leach, which I take it, can easily happen, during training. When they do that, was it a sign of boredom/frustration? My dog will start barking at a person when she’s off lead and then won’t come to me and I can’t grab her.

Currently have 8 rescue Maremma sheepdogs in our sanctuary in Oz, near all were highly aggressive when they arrived here, never used anything but love and affection and a 1 finger light tap on the nose to help get their eye attention, but that action is fairly breed specific to me as Maremma are very ignorant and are by genetics, bred to be their own shepherd. No pain inflicted, but i do feel the need to show dominant body postures at times, mainly for my own confidence when facing a 50 kg dog who is a complete stranger. Anyway, they are all now working guarding livestock now, safe with people in environments i let them into and they're happy, thats all that matters in the end. Working dogs should be working.. Ive no doubt that if i can do it with no more than a confidence/ corrective/ "look at me" 1 finger tap then you could train any aggressive dog in the right environment with your methods only, no doubt at all.. For people to think your methods would be best served in the hectic, high tension environment that DD creates at mass seminars is just not realistic or fair, different training works best in their own environments and DD makes an environment that works for him and the time he leaves for training. The dogs we take on are always on their last day at a kill shelter, they are more aggressive then most ive seen with DD when they arrive, without being dragged and scared etc at all, I obviously dont only use positive but i try, Id definitely give DD challege a go but only because i have done it with over a dozen 45 plus kilogram aggressive dogs with a 1 LIGHT FINGER TAP ON THE NOSE, NO OTHER PHYSICAL TOUCH AGGRESSION . Its all about time , love and understanding to me and ive proven it..

Her explanations are lacking. I feel horrible for any animal left in her care. She treats animals as possessions. They have needs she didn't meet. She had options and didn't avail herself. It isn't leadership.

I have a question! How is this different from your previous recall videos. You are doing the same thing you did with all the other dogs. Now what happens when he is an active guard dog and you need to call him of off something. Breeds had specific purposes so don't give me that crap that breed specifics don't apply. He his a Cana Corso known for their protective nature. How will this recall apply to this. Aka : Active guard dog = sexually mature and now has the guarding instinct kicks in. It is in his breed unless he was poorly bread with a softer temp.

Hi Zak, how do I stop my dog from barking at squirrels? She is a little Pomeranian so they aren't intimidated by her, and they go just far enough up the tree to tease her. I run out and call her but she is totally fixed on the squirrel and I cannot even get her attention. She is really good by herself in the yard otherwise, however the squirrels are all over my yard in abundance.

I agree with this for a puppy, but adult dogs that have not been trained take a lot more training for complete recall. As Arnold LOL
